With our intensive driving courses you learn to drive in just one or two weeks. 4 or 6 hours of one to one driving lessons each day with a local fully qualified driving instructor. The free practical test is usually booked for the end of the week. Free theory test and online theory course included where required.

Our intensive driving courses range from a 2 or 3 day (12 hour) re-test course up to a full 8 or 12 day (48 hour) intensive driving course for the complete beginner.

Courses can be taken in manual or automatic cars.

Two course options are available

• 6 hours per day one to one in car tuition if you need to pass your test in the shortest possible time
• 4 hours per day if you need to fit your tuition in around other commitments such as shift work or child care.

We only work with fully qualified local driving instructors to deliver one and two week intensive driving courses in Matlock so thay you learn to drive in your local area. Your instructor will pick you up and drop you off at home after each session. Our intensive driving courses are strictly one to one. You will not be asked to share the driving with other pupils.

Slow learner or fast learner doesn't matter. Your driving instructor will exactly match your course to your ability and progress.

You don't need to be young, confident or a fast learner to learn to drive on an intensive course. Intensive driving lessons are just like normal driving lessons - just much closer together. Instead of trying to remember something you learned a week or even two weeks ago it will be something you did an hour or two ago. Lessons make much more sense when you can see how what you practiced in the morning applies to what you are learning in the afternoon.

Some of our pupils are recent university graduates who need a driving licence on their CV fast. Others have been learning to drive for a while but need an intensive driving course to pass before going away to university. One lady wanted to learn to drive so that she could take the kids on day trips to the seaside - another so she could get a divorce! We have even raced a few babies - helping mums and dads through the test before the baby arrived!

Top tip for nervous learners: Ask us to arrange your test appointment for at least 3 clear working days after your course. That is the minimum amount of notice the DVSA need to allow you to change your test appointment without loss of the £62 driving test fee. It is normal to struggle with some part of learning a new skill. Just knowing that you can change the test or maybe squeeze in a few extra lessons takes the pressure off. Of course, with the pressure off you will be more relaxed, enjoy your lessons more and probably sail through the test as arranged anyway.
